Malvern Day Camp TestimonialThe Counselors are warm and professional and always supportive. The before and after care was a big help for me as a working parent.

What a fantastic start of what is going to be a great Summer! Even though there were not a lot of campers….we made the best of it. We all enjoyed slushees on Monday and on Tuesday we celebrated Halloween a little early this year. The campers came dressed up and we enjoyed an awesome Spooktacular Show. Wednesday everyone was able to enjoy a giant water slide for water play day! On Friday all the campers enjoyed a little jousting and gross food eating contest! Now that was a fun and exciting week!

Tadpoles-

The Tadpoles had an awesome first week of camp. They really enjoyed wall climb and most of them made it to the top of the wall their very first time. This week the Tadpoles enjoyed delicious slushees for snack on Monday. They thought it was so funny to have a red tongue. During the Spooktacular show on Tuesday, they participated in some fun games and won lots of cool prizes! On Wednesday, the Tadpoles had a blast playing lots of water games and playing on the giant water slide. The Tadpoles are so excited for the second week of camp!!!!

Turtles-

This week has been a great first week of camp! Turtles had so much fun, especially during the free swims. The campers, really liked being able to splash around in the pool with Miss Allie and Mr. Nick. They got to dive for rings and on Wednesday, despite the rain, everyone went down a huge water slide. During nature we saw tadpoles, and a deer skull. The deer skull was really cool and everyone was fascinated by it. It’s a good thing the Turtles all have eleven years until they start driving because everyone ran into the walls at the race track. It was the first time in kayaks too for the majority of the group and we have a bunch of naturals. Overall this was a really fun week and a great way to kick off the summer!

Geckos-

The Geckos had a very exciting first week of camp. Right from the start every camper’s goal was to have fun. The fun was enhanced Tuesday with a Spooktacular performance, during the performance people were “pied” and prizes were awarded. Wednesday we had a water slide, which provided the children with a pleasant surprise when they slid right into the pool at the bottom. The Geckos had a rewarding first week with the promise of a GREAT summer ahead!

Frogs-

The first week of camp was exciting for the frogs. Our group was one of the few groups with a lot of campers and the kids made the most of it. Monday the kids were tested for swimming and each frog was at least a level two and two of our group members made it to a level three, all of which is fantastic for this age group. We also had wall climb for the first time this week and each camper gave a great effort no matter how challenging the wall looked. On Wednesday, the frogs had a chance to go on the giant water slide. Each frog went down the slide with priceless smiles on their faces. It was a great first week of camp for our group!!!!

Toads-

The Toads had a phenomenal last week of camp. On Monday they had the Tropical Obstacle Course where they had a blast going through the logs and going down the slide. On Wednesday they had the opportunity to dunk the counselors and play tons of fun games at the carnival. On Thursday they had a great time going down the Wild Rapids Water Slide and getting soaked. To finish off a great camp year the Toads are going to enjoy the slip and slide and some slushies.

Lizards-

Although there were not a lot of campers this week, we still had a blast for our first week of camp. On Monday, we not only became acquainted with camp activities, but also enjoyed slushees for a snack. Tuesday was Halloween, where we wore our coolest costumes. We also enjoyed a Spooktacular game show in the afternoon. We slid down the inflatable water slide on Wednesday, it was so much fun! After that, we created strands of gimp at arts and crafts and in spirit of the World Cup; we played a couple games of soccer throughout the week. It was a fantastic start to the 2010 summer!

Rookies-

Week one was a great kickoff to what is sure to be a stellar summer. We all made some new friends and caught up with some from previous summers. We’ve done a little bit of everything so far to get back into the swing of camp including numerous Gaga games and laps around the race track. We caught a crayfish at Nature and learned about praying mantises. We can’t wait for the rest of our friends to get here so summer can really begin!!

CIT-

This week we only had two CITs at camp but they really enjoyed spending time with their own junior camp groups. This is what they had to say: Alec thought this was one of the quietest weeks of camp ever. This week he was with the turtles, and he really enjoyed the water slide on Wednesday. Laynie, also thought this week was very quiet, but the frogs were an awesome group. I really enjoyed the double adventure periods on Wednesday too. The waterslide was my favorite part which was also on Wednesday!
